Role overview

Zip is an AI-powered enterprise procurement platform trusted by major companies including T-Mobile, OpenAI, and AMD. As a Software Engineer on the backend team, you will design and build core products and infrastructure that power procurement workflows, from request management and no-code workflow builders to financial system integrations and B2B payment processing.

Key responsibilities

Design and build highly reliable and resilient products and features across Zip’s platform.
Work closely with cross-functional product and customer-facing teams to understand requirements and deliver thoughtful solutions.
Write high-quality, extensible, and maintainable code that scales with the platform’s needs.
Design and build scalable frontend applications and components alongside backend systems.
Design and build APIs that drive both existing and new features for web-based applications.
Autonomously scope and solve difficult technical challenges with guidance available from an experienced team.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding such as physics or mathematics.
At least 5 years of experience with web application and API development in production environments, particularly with Python, Javascript, React, and GraphQL.
Experience with industry-standard build, test, and deploy tools such as Kubernetes, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Kibana, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Ability to quickly learn new frameworks, architecture patterns, and programming languages as needed.
Exposure to or interest in AI-driven automation and collaborating with AI and machine learning teams.
Experience working with API integrations to external systems like Jira, ServiceNow, and Slack is a plus.
Background at a small company with diverse responsibilities is beneficial but not required.
