Role overview

The Exploration Company is developing spacecraft for crewed missions, and this summer internship offers the opportunity to contribute directly to vehicle development. As an engineering intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers on real projects that advance the company’s mission, applying classroom knowledge to solve actual technical challenges.

Key responsibilities

Work with engineering teams to design, develop, test, and refine products, systems, and processes.
Contribute to active engineering projects and deliverables under mentor guidance.
Apply engineering principles and academic coursework to identify and resolve technical problems.
Develop, test, debug, and document technical solutions, tools, and prototypes.
Analyze engineering data, recognize patterns, and offer recommendations to inform decision-making.
Attend and participate actively in design reviews, team meetings, and technical discussions.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and project updates.
Assist with testing, validation, and quality assurance efforts.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
Minimum of three months of relevant engineering experience gained through internships, co-op placements, or industry projects.
U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status (such as a valid Green Card) due to federal export control regulations.
Ability to commit to full-time work of 40 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks beginning in May 2027.
Ability to arrange and fund your own relocation and housing in Houston, Texas.
