Role overview
Geotab is a global leader in IoT and connected transportation, processing billions of data points daily to help businesses manage their fleets more effectively. As an Account Specialist in the Customer Care department, you will manage a portfolio of approximately 150–200 customer accounts across Canada and the U.S., building strong relationships and helping existing clients derive greater value from Geotab’s fleet management and telematics solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Manage an assigned portfolio of customer accounts with coverage aligned to Pacific Time, conducting approximately 10–15 customer meetings each week to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly while ensuring ongoing satisfaction and retention.
- Analyze customer usage patterns and data to identify expansion opportunities and recommend tailored solutions that maximize value from Geotab’s offerings.
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Product Development teams to identify growth opportunities, connect technical capabilities to customer needs, and share customer feedback to support product improvements.
- Employ a consultative approach to understand clients’ evolving needs and proactively identify potential challenges to foster long-term retention.
- Navigate complex issues by coordinating cross-functional resources and ensuring seamless service delivery across the customer base.
- Develop knowledge of Geotab’s broader ecosystem, including the SDK, Marketplace, and Big Data analytics capabilities.
Requirements
- A post-secondary diploma or degree, with specialization in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field preferred as an asset.
- Three to five years of relevant experience, including at least one year as an individual contributor in a consultative sales function and at least one year in consulting, business operations, or program management.
- Technical sales experience required; telematics experience is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships and accounts, with diplomatic judgment to understand customer needs and recommend viable solutions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and understand both technical and business requirements.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and Google Workspace applications including Sheets, Docs, and Slides.
- Ability to support customers across Canada and the U.S. with Pacific Time coverage; domestic or international travel of up to 20% may be required.
