Role overview

Geotab, a global leader in IoT and connected transportation, is seeking an Ethics & Compliance Lead for its Corporate Compliance department in Oakville, Ontario. This role will center on building and operationalizing a comprehensive ethics and compliance program while fostering a culture of integrity across the organization. You will partner with Legal, Finance, Technology, HR, IT, Operations, and Senior Management to embed compliance into business processes and drive adherence to policies and global regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve a risk-based ethics and compliance strategy that identifies gaps and aligns programs to global business objectives.
  • Lead impartial investigations into allegations of non-compliance, unethical conduct, or violations of the Code of Conduct, leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency and pattern detection.
  • Own the drafting, review, and improvement of ethics and compliance policies including the Code of Conduct, Anti-Corruption & Anti-Bribery, Third-Party Risk Management, Sanctions, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblower policies.
  • Design and manage compliance risk assessment programs that identify vulnerabilities and surface data-driven, actionable solutions using AI-powered analytics.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on anti-bribery and anti-corruption, third-party risk, business continuity, records retention, and sanctions matters, providing proactive recommendations to the compliance team and business partners.
  • Drive cross-functional compliance integration by initiating partnerships across departments and building AI-powered tools and self-service resources that reduce manual effort.
  • Stay current with evolving laws, regulations, industry standards, and best practices in ethics and compliance within the technology sector, and drive automation and AI utilization across compliance workflows.

Requirements

  • Five to eight years of experience developing and managing ethics and compliance programs, conducting internal investigations, and leading complex cross-functional compliance initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn, adopt, and deploy new technologies, SaaS platforms, and AI tools, with comfort building workflow automations to eliminate repetitive tasks.
  • Proven capability to manage competing priorities, context-switch smoothly in a fast-paced environment, and handle multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong risk and control orientation with the ability to identify, evaluate, and mitigate compliance risks across processes and demonstrate a proactive approach to maintaining effective control environments.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards with the ability to promote a culture of honesty and transparency and serve as a trusted advisor.
