Role overview

As a Senior Connectivity Partnership Manager, you will lead strategic relationships with telecommunications carriers and connectivity platforms while optimizing Geotab’s overall connectivity spending across the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with mobile network operators and mobile virtual network operators, leading request-for-proposal processes to reduce per-SIM costs and managing SIM lifecycles in collaboration with the Engineering team.
  • Monitor service level agreement performance, optimize data plans and transitions, and track emerging technology trends within the carrier and IoT space.
  • Manage commercial relationships with freight forwarders, couriers, and third-party logistics providers through rate comparisons, agreement negotiations, and performance tracking.
  • Support fleet mobility carrier partnerships by working with Engineering and Product teams to translate technical requirements into commercial agreements and multi-carrier strategies.
  • Lead cost management initiatives by developing annual carrier savings pipelines, managing budgets, performing variance analyses, and benchmarking total cost of ownership across devices, shipments, and programs.
  • Administer carrier contracts by maintaining databases, managing renewal calendars, drafting contract amendments, and ensuring legal and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate across Engineering, Product, Legal, Finance, and Supply Chain teams as well as external carriers and logistics providers to ensure alignment on commercial and operational objectives.

Requirements

  • Eight to ten years of experience in procurement, category management, or supply chain with specific focus on carrier, telecom, or connectivity procurement, and at least eight years managing carrier relationships directly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Telecommunications, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Working knowledge of cellular IoT connectivity models, SIM and eSIM lifecycle management, mobile network operator and mobile virtual network operator commercial structures, and aggregator platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end carrier request-for-proposal processes, negotiate terms, manage service level agreements, and execute logistics and freight carrier agreements.
  • Proficiency in cost analysis, carrier benchmarking, and spend reporting using tools such as Excel or Power BI, with hands-on experience in enterprise resource planning or procurement systems such as Dynamics 365 or SAP.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and contract administration skills with the ability to prepare executive presentations and drive carrier cost reduction initiatives.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Procurement and Supply Manager, Certified Supply Chain Professional, Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, or GSMA and TM Forum credentials are considered advantageous.
