Role overview

Coinbase is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead Global GL Operations and Intercompany functions within the Controllership team. You will oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes across global entities, manage the company’s intercompany framework, and ensure the integrity and scalability of financial infrastructure to support continued international expansion.

Key responsibilities

Own end-to-end month-end and quarter-end close processes for all global entities, delivering timely and accurate general ledger reporting and consolidated financial statements.
Lead intercompany operations including billing, cash settlements, transfer pricing execution, foreign exchange analysis, and elimination entries across the organization.
Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Finance Data teams to operationalize new intercompany agreements, entity launches, and transfer pricing methodologies into repeatable processes.
Design, implement, and document SOX-compliant internal controls specific to GL operations and intercompany accounting activities.
Execute strategic GL projects including M&A integrations, new entity setups, and ERP enhancements within NetSuite.
Mentor and develop direct reports to build team capability and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

CPA designation with a minimum of 9 years of accounting or finance experience, including 2+ years of direct report management and public accounting background (Big 4 preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with demonstrated knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX 404 implementation and documentation.
Hands-on experience managing end-to-end month-end close processes across multiple entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidated reporting.
Proven experience leading multi-entity intercompany accounting, including eliminations, FX revaluation, and global consolidations.
Proficiency in SQL and analytics tools such as Snowflake or Looker, with hands-on ERP experience (NetSuite preferred), ideally in fintech or crypto environments.
Demonstrated ability to use generative AI responsibly while maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and improve workflow efficiency.
