Role overview

Etihad Airways is hiring an experienced Data Analyst to build and optimize a modern data and analytics environment using Databricks and Azure technologies. You will work with large, complex datasets to develop scalable pipelines, generate actionable insights, and help optimize both performance and cloud costs across the organization’s data infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

Assess business requirements to identify necessary data and infrastructure needs.
Design and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines and architectures that support analytics and machine learning initiatives.
Ingest and process raw data from multiple sources in both batch and streaming formats.
Build large, complex datasets that enable business intelligence, analytics, and machine learning use cases.
Work across functional teams to understand data needs, business operations, and deliver effective data solutions.
Identify and implement process improvements such as automating manual workflows, optimizing data delivery, and re-architecting infrastructure.
Monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud cost consumption while maintaining system performance and data quality.
Support analytics and data science teams by providing tooling and ensuring data accessibility and governance.

Requirements

Minimum three years of experience working as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
Strong proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks.
Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
Proven experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
Advanced experience with Databricks AI/BI capabilities.
Experience working with Azure cloud data platforms.
Knowledge of data warehouse design, data modeling, and partitioning strategies.
Familiarity with data governance practices including cataloging, lineage, and compliance.
Experience with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD practices for data workflows.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
