Role overview

As a Derivative Sales Analyst on Coinbase’s Institutional team, you will manage and expand relationships with high-value derivatives traders while sourcing new business from competitors. You’ll work across futures, options, and perpetuals products, providing market insights to shape Coinbase’s advanced trading offerings. This is a remote-based position within a remote-first company that holds quarterly in-person working sessions.

Key responsibilities

Build and maintain relationships with VIP derivatives traders to drive trading volume and increase adoption of advanced trading products.
Identify and recruit high-value derivatives traders from competitor platforms through targeted outreach and relationship-building efforts.
Monitor market structure, client activity, and competitor strategies to identify opportunities for upselling and product improvements.
Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast performance metrics including trading volume, active traders, and client wins, using CRM systems to track all interactions.
Re-engage previously inactive top traders using data-driven strategies and tailored incentives to restore trading activity.
Develop and optimize AI-powered workflows to prioritize pipeline opportunities, segment client portfolios, and personalize outreach at scale.

Requirements

Minimum two years of sales or business development experience in financial services, trading, or cryptocurrency sectors, with proven success meeting or surpassing revenue and volume targets.
Deep knowledge of derivatives products including futures, options, and perpetuals, demonstrated through prior experience on trading desks, at brokerages, or on exchanges.
Proficiency with data analytics tools, including dashboards, CRM platforms, and basic analytics techniques for client segmentation and opportunity identification.
Educational background in business, finance, economics, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience working with trading clients.
Preferred: existing network of active institutional derivatives traders you can bring to the platform immediately.
Ability to use generative AI responsibly while maintaining oversight to ensure quality outputs and measurable improvements in efficiency and workflow effectiveness.
