Role overview

Geotab, a global leader in IoT and connected transportation, is seeking a Facilities Manager for a six-month contract position at their Oakville, Ontario headquarters. You will lead the Office Experience team and oversee all aspects of facilities operations, vendor management, building systems, and major projects to maintain a safe, efficient, and productive workplace environment.

Key responsibilities

Direct daily operations of the large Oakville office facility while maintaining standards for safety, security, and business continuity.
Lead the Office Experience team, which includes food and beverage, reception, maintenance, and administrative staff members.
Schedule and oversee routine maintenance of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, food service equipment, EV chargers, and elevators.
Manage vendor relationships, negotiate service contracts, and ensure providers meet agreed service levels.
Oversee construction, renovation, workplace design, and space-planning projects using landlord-preferred vendors.
Ensure the facility complies with local building codes, fire safety regulations, and occupational health and safety standards.
Manage operational budgets for repairs, maintenance, supplies, capital projects, and utilities while preparing monthly reports on energy consumption, maintenance costs, and project progress.

Requirements

Minimum five years of experience in facilities management or a comparable role.
Diploma or technical training in building operations or facility management.
Five to eight years of progressive leadership experience in corporate management or related strategic positions.
Demonstrated experience managing facilities of 75,000 or more square feet.
Proven expertise in team management, staff development, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
Strong knowledge of building systems, trades, maintenance practices, construction processes, and safety regulations.
Familiarity with Ontario building code, Fire Code compliance, AODA requirements, and environmental and energy regulations.
Competency with workplace management systems and building automation technologies.
