Role overview

Etihad Airways is seeking an experienced First Officer to operate the Airbus A330 as part of the airline’s continued expansion. Based in Abu Dhabi, you will work alongside the Captain on one of the world’s youngest and most modern commercial fleets, supporting safe and efficient flight operations across six continents.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist the Captain in all aspects of flight preparation, navigation, and operation while ensuring full compliance with Etihad’s operating procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain continuous and independent monitoring of aircraft position, terrain, and weather conditions to support safe navigation throughout all phases of flight.
  • Provide clear communication, professional advice, and coordinated support to the Captain to contribute to safe and efficient decision-making.
  • Maintain high standards of discipline, personal conduct, and appearance, representing Etihad professionally in all operational environments.
  • Assume command of the aircraft in the event of Captain incapacitation in accordance with your rank and company procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2,500 hours of total flying time accumulated across your aviation career.
  • Minimum 1,500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit multi-pilot aircraft.
  • Minimum 1,000 hours of operational experience on the A330 type.
  • Recent A330 family aircraft flying experience within the last 12 months.
  • Valid A330 type rating with at least two months of validity remaining at the time of joining.
  • Unrestricted ATPL or valid frozen ATPL from an ICAO member state, with ATPL Theoretical Knowledge Exam results and integrated course completion certificate if holding frozen ATPL.
  • Current, unrestricted Class 1 medical certificate and ICAO English language proficiency Level 4 or higher (written and verbal).
  • Must not have attained age 50 on your day of joining.
