Role overview

Doka, a worldwide provider of formwork and scaffolding solutions, is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead its operations in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. As part of the Umdasch Group, Doka serves major construction projects across the region, including large-scale developments that demand advanced engineering expertise and innovative on-site solutions.

Key responsibilities

Lead and manage the Engineering department, including workforce planning, team structure, and performance management to ensure the team has the resources needed to succeed.
Develop engineering strategies aligned with country business objectives and monitor departmental KPIs such as design efficiency, project execution, and resource utilization.
Drive the adoption of BIM technology for formwork design to improve efficiency, coordination, and reduce rework on complex projects.
Serve as a key business partner to the Country Manager, supporting project costing, technical-commercial proposals, and risk assessment while driving improved project margins.
Oversee engineering execution across all projects to ensure quality, safety, and compliance, providing technical leadership for complex projects and site challenges.
Build and develop a high-performing engineering team, strengthen leadership capabilities among Team Leaders, and drive succession planning and talent development.
Collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, and the Regional Engineering team to align standards, leverage best practices, and ensure technical compliance with local regulations.

Requirements

Extensive experience in engineering leadership and management within the construction or formwork industry.
Proven track record of developing team members and driving organizational performance in a country or regional leadership role.
Strong technical knowledge of formwork design, structural calculations, and construction methodologies, particularly for high-rise and complex projects.
Experience with BIM implementation and adoption of digital tools in engineering workflows.
Commercial acumen and ability to support business strategy while maintaining technical excellence and cost efficiency.
Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional partnerships and work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
