Education, Experience and Salary
• Education: A high school diploma is the minimum for most roles. A diploma in hotel management or culinary arts is preferred for supervisor, chef and barista positions. Electricians need a technical certificate.
• Experience: Entry-level roles such as Bell Attendant, Commis II and Barista may accept fresh candidates with good attitude and training. Supervisor, Head Barista and Butler positions usually ask for two to five years of hotel or restaurant experience.
• Language: Good spoken English is important for guest-facing jobs. Arabic is a bonus.
• Salary: Pay depends on the role and experience. As a general guide, entry-level hotel jobs may pay about QAR 1,500 to 3,000 per month, and supervisor-level roles about QAR 3,500 to 6,000 or more. Tips and service charge may add to your income. Final salary is confirmed by the employer in your offer letter.
