About RAK Airport
RAK International Airport was founded in 1976 by the late Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, former Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. For over 35 years, the airport has run safe and smooth operations, seeing steady growth in passengers, cargo, and flights.
Under the leadership of Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, current Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, the emirate continues to grow in business and tourism — and the airport is growing right along with it. Located about 18 km from the city, it’s a modern airport with up-to-date equipment and a runway that’s 3,760 meters long, long enough to handle the largest aircraft flying today.
