Role overview

Scale’s Global Public Sector team is building AI applications to address critical challenges facing governments worldwide. As a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (Forward Deployed) based in Riyadh, you will work directly with public sector clients to architect and deploy production-grade AI solutions that impact millions of citizens. This role combines core software engineering with on-site client engagement to solve complex, mission-critical problems.

Key responsibilities

Work directly with public sector clients to define requirements, gather feedback, and implement solutions, including spending up to two weeks per month on-site at client offices.
Design and build production-grade, full-stack applications that integrate AI models with modern frameworks, covering user interfaces, backend APIs, and system architecture.
Deploy and maintain infrastructure in cloud environments while ensuring system security, scalability, reliability, and long-term operational health.
Develop core platform features that are reusable across diverse international public sector client implementations.
Collaborate with design, product, and data teams to ensure applications align with broader technical strategy and organizational goals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
Five or more years of full-stack software engineering experience following graduation, with demonstrated expertise in React, TypeScript, Next.js, Python, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
Proven track record architecting scalable, production-grade applications with strong expertise in cloud environments and infrastructure management.
Experience deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex solutions directly within customer infrastructure and environments.
Self-directed work style with technical maturity to handle ambiguous requirements and deliver reliable software solutions.
Experience building solutions with large language models and comprehensive knowledge of the generative AI landscape.
