Role overview

Geotab is a global leader in IoT and connected transportation solutions that process billions of data points daily to help businesses manage fleets and improve safety. As a Senior IT Application Specialist, you will lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of AI-driven solutions while designing, configuring, and maintaining the company’s enterprise IT application systems across multiple Ontario locations.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the complete lifecycle of enterprise applications from roadmap definition and architectural strategy through deployment, ongoing health management, and continuous AI-driven improvement.
  • Use AI coding tools including Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, and Gemini CLI daily to write, review, and orchestrate code for enterprise environments.
  • Build and deploy advanced workflow automations leveraging LLM APIs and platforms such as GCP Cloud Functions, AWS Lambda, and n8n.
  • Design AI agent skills, tool integrations, and autonomous workflows with production-grade governance and security controls.
  • Perform daily health checks, drive automation of health monitoring, lead performance tuning initiatives, and coordinate upgrade planning to ensure high availability.
  • Deploy and manage AIOps monitoring for predictive detection, automated anomaly identification, and AI-driven incident response across the application landscape.
  • Work closely with business owners to understand requirements, manage expectations, identify improvement opportunities, and provide strategic recommendations to management on AI adoption and technology direction.
  • Mentor IT Applications Specialists through knowledge transfer, cross-training, and centralized knowledge management while creating and maintaining technical documentation and SOPs.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrable experience in AI and automation technologies.
  • Five to eight years of experience in technical, functional, and system support of IT applications within cloud platform and enterprise application environments.
  • At least three years of hands-on experience building and deploying AI-powered automation in production environments, supported by a portfolio of projects or practical assessment.
  • Advanced proficiency using AI coding tools with demonstrated ability to write, review, and orchestrate production-grade code.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills across multiple languages and platforms.
