Role overview

Checkout.com powers digital payments for over one billion global shoppers and processes more than 10 billion transactions yearly for companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony. As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you will design and build mobile products used directly by millions of consumers worldwide, working alongside engineering teams and product leaders to create high-performance, user-friendly experiences at scale.

Key responsibilities

Architect and build mobile experiences that serve millions of consumers globally.
Own feature development end-to-end, from initial discovery and development through to monitoring and long-term maintenance.
Collaborate closely with backend teams to ensure underlying systems align with and support mobile product evolution.
Champion technical best practices across testing, monitoring, and release strategy to strengthen the engineering foundations.
Mentor peers, conduct code reviews, and contribute to the long-term technical vision for mobile development at the company.

Requirements

Solid background in mobile technologies, including demonstrated experience with at least one of the following: native iOS, native Android, or React Native.
Proven track record building scalable and highly performant consumer experiences in the mobile domain.
Experience building and maintaining mobile apps or SDKs used by a large, active user base.
Passion for developer experience, with ability to design clear APIs, produce excellent documentation, and ensure reliability at scale.
Excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience collaborating with product, design, and backend teams.
Prior experience in payments, fintech, or other security-sensitive domains is valued but not required.
Familiarity with PCI compliance, tokenization, or secure data handling is a plus.
