Role overview

Greenhouse is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to support its sales organization across the Asia-Pacific region. Based remotely in New South Wales, Australia, you will act as the technical trusted advisor for the sales team, helping to shape how the company’s hiring platform is presented and positioned to prospective customers. Travel is estimated at 25–40% of your time.

Key responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical advisor during customer-facing presentations and strategic deal support.
Develop and deliver customized solutions that address complex customer requirements and highlight product value.
Conduct in-depth technical discovery sessions to understand prospects’ sales processes and business challenges.
Respond to requests for information, proposals, and security questionnaires with technical depth and accuracy.
Collaborate across sales, product, product marketing, and technical teams to align messaging and execution.
Build and refine processes, metrics, and best practices for the sales engineering function as it evolves.
Develop deep expertise in the Greenhouse product suite, including its APIs, integrations, and technical capabilities.

Requirements

Proven experience in customer-facing B2B SaaS roles, whether as a Sales Engineer (5–7+ years), Account Executive, Account Manager, or Customer Success Manager.
Strong understanding of the sales process and ability to think strategically about how to advance deals.
Foundational knowledge of APIs, webhooks, authentication principles, MCP, and automation concepts.
Excellent communication and active listening skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for different audiences.
An entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action and an internal drive to win, succeed, and continuously learn.
Natural technical curiosity and the desire to understand how systems work, not just what they do.
Experience with JavaScript, HTML, or SQL is a plus; background in HR technology is also valued.
