Talent Acquisition Sourcer, Strategic and Leadership Hiring
Role overview
Checkout.com is a fintech payments platform powering over 10 billion transactions yearly for major companies like eBay, Spotify, Uber, and Klarna. The Strategic & Leadership Hiring team seeks an experienced sourcer to lead research and candidate engagement for Director, Senior Director, VP, and C-suite roles across the organisation’s global offices. This is a hands-on position focused on turning complex briefs into credible shortlists and supporting critical leadership appointments.
Key responsibilities
- Develop focused search plans from role briefs by building comprehensive company and talent maps that identify strong candidates beyond obvious talent pools.
- Create tailored outreach to senior passive candidates that communicates the opportunity credibly and sustains their engagement through thoughtful follow-up.
- Conduct substantive screening conversations to assess expertise, achievements, leadership behaviours and motivation, then make evidence-based recommendations with clear analysis of strengths and gaps.
- Manage multiple concurrent searches by learning new briefs quickly, prioritising effectively, and adapting approaches based on feedback and search results.
- Build trusted relationships with candidates and stakeholders through responsive communication, confidentiality and clear expectations, sharing concise updates and market intelligence.
- Maintain accurate candidate intelligence, market maps and records in the applicant tracking system, flagging search risks and staying on top of next steps.
- Use research platforms, market intelligence tools and AI to improve search speed and quality while verifying accuracy and protecting confidential information.
Requirements
- Proven recruitment experience with substantial hands-on responsibility for research, sourcing and screening, with a track record of building strong pipelines for senior or specialist roles.
- Strong market-mapping skills demonstrating the ability to identify relevant organisations and talent, and articulate clear reasoning behind candidate recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create personalised outreach and ask thoughtful, probing questions.
- Sound judgement in assessing functional expertise, interpersonal skills and leadership behaviours, distinguishing demonstrated capability from presentation.
- High attention to detail with reliable follow-through on candidate notes, research, written updates and confidential records.
- Pace, resilience and adaptability to learn new briefs quickly, balance competing priorities, and respond constructively to challenges and changing requirements.
- Collaborative, low-ego approach with willingness to take ownership, welcome feedback and ask for help when needed.
