Role overview

Wealthsimple, Canada’s leading financial innovator, is seeking an experienced Associate Creative Director and Art Director to join its Commercial & Marketing team. This remote position offers the opportunity to create innovative, human-centered work that challenges conventional advertising and helps shape how Canadians think about money and financial products.

Key responsibilities

Develop and execute large and small integrated brand campaigns and projects from initial concept through completion, often managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Provide art direction for visual design across all platforms including film, social media, digital, and interactive experiences.
Concept and art direct creative work by developing storyboards, comps, and animatics independently, and provide direction to studio designers as needed.
Serve as either a hands-on maker-owner or a director-delegator depending on project requirements, finding the right balance for each initiative.
Present creative work to internal stakeholders with clarity and passion, advocating for the creative vision and strategic approach.
Collaborate with copywriters, designers, writers, marketers, and engineers across the organization to bring ideas to life.
Explore and implement AI tools for prototyping, mockups, animatics, and generating internal assets more efficiently.

Requirements

Six to ten or more years of professional experience as an Art Director, with agency experience preferred though not required.
Proven ability to concept and art direct integrated campaigns from strategic development through creative execution and delivery.
Extensive production experience across film, digital, social media, and print platforms.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite with hands-on capability to deliver comps, layouts, and assets across all media types.
Familiarity with AI image and video generation tools.
A collaborative creative mindset with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback respectfully.
Willingness to travel for production work when necessary.
