Role overview

The Data Analytics Officer supports the Technical department at Etihad Airways by developing business intelligence solutions, automating processes, and transforming operational data into actionable insights. This position combines analytics expertise with digital initiative leadership to drive efficiency and data-driven decision-making across the airline’s technical operations.

Key responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance business intelligence reports and automated dashboards using the Maintenance Information System, OPS BI, EDP, and other operational data platforms.
Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to secure data access, verify data definitions, and ensure datasets are accurate and suitable for their intended use.
Monitor data flows and connections, identify data quality issues, and coordinate corrective actions by determining root causes.
Identify and prioritize opportunities to digitize manual workflows and automate recurring technical processes.
Lead digital and analytics initiatives from initial requirements gathering and solution design through testing, deployment, handover, and ongoing improvement.
Define project scope, timelines, resource requirements, success metrics, and delivery plans in consultation with Technical, IT, and business teams.
Evaluate and recommend tools, platforms, and technologies that enhance efficiency and enable data-driven decision-making.
Build data literacy and support adoption and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related analytical field.
Minimum three years of experience in a complex analytical, numerical, business intelligence, or reporting environment, with aviation experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platforms and analytics tools such as SQL, R, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable business intelligence platforms.
Hands-on experience in data analytics, dashboard development, business intelligence reporting, data modelling, and ETL principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, diagnose issues, and recommend practical solutions.
Excellent attention to detail in validating data, documenting assumptions, and ensuring reporting accuracy for decision-making.
Strong written and verbal communication skills capable of presenting technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and drive improvements from concept through implementation.
