Role overview
Tamara is a leading fintech platform across Saudi Arabia and the GCC region, serving more than 25 million customers and over 130,000 partner merchants. We are seeking a Government Compliance Advisor to join our Customer Experience team in Dubai, where you will serve as Tamara’s designated UAE-based point of contact for all complaints escalated through regulatory channels, including Sanadak and the AECB Dispute & Complaints Management framework. This is a compliance-critical role that carries personal accountability under UAE regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the primary reviewer and submitter of all regulator-facing case responses for complaints raised through Sanadak and the AECB Dispute & Complaints Management platform, ensuring accuracy, quality and timely submission to the Central Bank of the UAE and other regulatory bodies.
- Review case investigations prepared by the Care Operations team, validate their completeness and quality, and submit final responses to regulators within required timelines.
- Serve as the main point of contact for direct communication with Sanadak, AECB and CBUAE case officers, responding to calls, queries and clarification requests during business hours.
- Track and manage regulator-driven case service level agreements, escalating any at-risk cases to the Head of Care Operations and Compliance in advance of potential breaches.
- Coordinate with internal Care Operations, Compliance, Product and Tech teams to identify and remediate the root causes of escalated complaints.
- Maintain complete, audit-ready records for all regulator-facing cases, including correspondence, decisions and supporting documentation.
- Prepare periodic reports on complaint volumes, resolution rates, service level agreement adherence and root-cause themes for internal governance and regulatory inspections.
- Support Care Operations and Compliance during CBUAE audits and inspections by providing case samples, team documentation and supporting evidence as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Business, Law, Finance or a related discipline.
- Minimum three years of experience in complaints handling, customer operations, compliance operations or a regulatory-facing role, preferably within banking, fintech, buy now pay later, insurance or another regulated financial services environment.
- Direct experience handling regulator escalations through channels such as Sanadak, CBUAE or SAMA is strongly preferred.
- Native or fluent Arabic and strong professional English, demonstrated through both written and spoken communication.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft clear, factual case responses appropriate for regulatory review.
- Sound judgment and ability to make defensible decisions on case classification, remediation and compensation within established policy frameworks.
- Detail-oriented and structured approach to work, with the ability to operate reliably under tight regulator-driven timelines.
- Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple internal teams without direct reporting authority.
