Role overview

Vosker is a North American leader in remote area surveillance, developing solar-powered cellular-connected cameras and an exclusive platform to help clients monitor what matters most to them. As Director of Legal Affairs, you will provide strategic legal guidance across the organization to support business growth and operational success.

Key responsibilities

Advise various departments with business-focused legal counsel aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
Draft, negotiate, and revise commercial contracts and legal documents, particularly in information technology, cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection matters.
Identify legal and business risks within innovative projects and work with stakeholders across functions to mitigate those risks.
Ensure the company’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations at the international level, especially regarding personal data protection and privacy.
Lead legal strategy on company growth projects and corporate development initiatives.
Develop internal and external policies and processes related to corporate governance and improve cross-departmental contract management processes.
Support the legal team as a business partner while demonstrating rigor, curiosity, and creativity.

Requirements

Hold a bachelor’s degree in law and membership in the Quebec Bar or another Canadian provincial law society.
Possess a minimum of eight years of experience in contract law and business law.
Demonstrate experience negotiating and drafting commercial agreements, particularly in technology law, cybersecurity and privacy, consumer protection, and regulatory matters.
Show strong teamwork and collaboration abilities across multiple disciplines with independence, resourcefulness, and excellent organizational skills.
Display rigor, commitment, curiosity, and proactive problem-solving with the ability to quickly identify risks and adapt to unexpected situations.
Perform effectively under high pressure and make timely decisions when needed, with fluent written and verbal communication in both French and English.
Demonstrate creativity in proposing legal business solutions that support company growth and show genuine motivation for excellence and innovation.
