Role overview
Scalapay is a European fintech company seeking an In-Store Operations Intern to join its team for six months. In this role, you will support the development and management of in-store merchants, ensuring smooth activations and integrations while handling post-sales activities and merchant success initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with the sales team by attending merchant presentations and providing support throughout the sales process.
- Work with the account team to support upselling initiatives and identify growth opportunities.
- Train merchants on how to use Scalapay’s payment solution and integrate it into their stores.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for merchants on technical and operational matters during and after integration.
- Conduct store visits, host deep-dive meetings to understand merchant challenges, and gather feedback to improve performance.
- Manage in-store marketing initiatives and coordinate with the Merchant Support team to implement new processes.
- Continuously analyze operations to identify improvement opportunities and implement best practices.
Requirements
- Native or near-native fluency in both French and Italian at C1-C2 level, with working proficiency in English at B2 level or higher.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet tools such as Excel or Google Sheets and presentation software including PowerPoint or Google Slides.
- Strong interest in the in-store and payments industry.
- Previous exposure to startup or scale-up environments.
- Valid driver’s license required for store visits.
- Execution-driven mindset with strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments.
- Proactive, adaptable approach with excellent communication and teamwork abilities across departments.
