Role overview
Lightspeed is seeking an Outbound Sales Development Representative to join its North American sales team based in Toronto. You will generate and qualify leads for small-to-mid-market retail clients, serving as the initial contact to help retail businesses understand how Lightspeed’s commerce platform can support their growth.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct proactive prospecting of small-to-mid-market retail accounts through phone, email, social media, and other outbound channels.
- Contact various stakeholders within prospect organizations to identify their business challenges and establish meaningful relationships.
- Work alongside Account Executives to facilitate smooth transitions of qualified leads and ensure strategic follow-up.
- Gather insights from prospect conversations and share feedback with marketing and sales teams to help refine outbound strategies.
- Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets in a high-volume sales environment.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of sales or customer-facing experience.
- Clear understanding of sales cycles and how to navigate them effectively.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities, with capacity to explain complex solutions to multiple decision-makers.
- Tech-savvy approach with comfort managing sales accounts and learning new platforms quickly.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with willingness to take action, adapt rapidly, and thrive in a fast-growing environment.
- Fluency in English as a working language.
