Role overview

Scale builds AI applications for organizations where reliability, security, and measurable results are critical. This role leads product strategy and direction for SGP, Scale’s core platform that enables teams to build, deploy, evaluate, and operate AI applications in customer environments. You will own the platform roadmap, lead the product management team responsible for it, and work across customers, platform engineering, and field teams to shape how organizations develop and run AI systems.

Key responsibilities

Develop and own the platform strategy and roadmap, making prioritization decisions across developer experience, customer needs, and field-developed capabilities that have broader value.
Define product requirements and designs by working directly with users and engineers, including prototyping user journeys and establishing success metrics based on customer outcomes, adoption rates, delivery time, and production performance.
Align teams across the organization on shared capabilities, rollout priorities, and necessary differences across deployment environments, ensuring clarity on what is available and what remains to be delivered.
Build and develop a strong product management team by establishing clear ownership across product areas, hiring and coaching PMs, and maintaining hands-on involvement in the most consequential product decisions.
Sequence investments against customer value, technical commitments, and dependencies to ensure effective resource allocation.
Follow through on post-launch gaps and measure the impact of shipped features on actual user outcomes and production performance.

Requirements

Proven track record of owning platform, infrastructure, or developer products from problem definition through launch and sustained production use.
Experience managing and developing product managers, setting direction across multiple related product areas, and remaining hands-on with important product decisions.
Strong product judgment demonstrated through the ability to explain which problems you chose to solve, what you decided against, how you sequenced work, and what changed for users as a result.
Technical depth sufficient to work credibly with engineers on APIs, runtime behavior, identity and authorization, deployment, observability, and data isolation, including the ability to reason through architectural tradeoffs and their consequences.
Experience driving adoption across teams with different needs and constraints, reaching decisions, establishing ownership, and following through when progress depends on people outside your reporting line.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to turn ambiguous problems into clear requirements that engineers can act on and explain priorities and tradeoffs to customers and executives.
