Role overview

Etihad Airways is seeking an experienced First Officer to operate the A330 aircraft as part of the flight deck team. As the UAE’s national airline, Etihad operates one of the world’s most modern fleets across six continents and is expanding significantly, with plans to double its fleet by 2030. This role offers the opportunity to develop leadership skills with a clear pathway to Captain as the airline continues to grow.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Captain in flight preparation, navigation, and aircraft operation while ensuring full compliance with Etihad’s procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously and independently monitor aircraft position, terrain, and weather conditions to maintain safe navigation throughout all phases of flight.
  • Communicate clearly with the Captain, providing advice and support that contributes to safe and efficient decision-making on the flight deck.
  • Maintain high standards of discipline, conduct, and professional appearance while representing Etihad in all operational environments.
  • Assume command of the aircraft in the event of Captain incapacitation, in accordance with rank and company procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2,500 hours of total flying time across your aviation career.
  • Minimum 1,500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit aircraft (aircraft with a FMS coupled to APFDS).
  • Minimum 1,000 hours of experience on the A330 type.
  • Flight experience on any A330 family aircraft within the past 12 months.
  • Valid A330 Type Rating with at least 2 months remaining validity at the time of joining.
  • Unrestricted ATPL or valid Frozen ATPL issued by an ICAO member state (holders of Frozen ATPL must present ATPL Theoretical Knowledge Exam results and integrated ATPL course completion certificate).
  • Unrestricted, current Class 1 medical certificate and ICAO Level 4 English language proficiency or higher (written and verbal).
  • Must not have reached age 50 on the joining date.
