Ashby is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Product Engineering to join a rapidly expanding UK-based team. Key responsibilities

Take ownership of substantial features or product areas, from initial conception through shipping, wearing traditional product and design hats alongside engineering.
Research competitor solutions, write product specifications, create wireframes, and make design decisions based on user research and industry needs.
Ship features at a high pace while advocating for time to establish reusable architectural foundations and building blocks across the stack.
Engage directly with customers to understand requirements, validate assumptions, and iterate on implementations based on real user feedback.
Collaborate with other engineers to integrate your work into broader platform capabilities and contribute to long-term platform strategy.
Operate independently in a minimal-meeting culture, solving problems creatively rather than executing predetermined tickets.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience as a full-stack or generalist engineer capable of building features end-to-end across frontend and backend systems.
A track record of taking ownership over substantial projects and seeing them through from conception to delivery.
Comfort and enthusiasm for product thinking, including writing specs, making design decisions, and understanding user needs without heavy process overhead.
Strong problem-solving instincts and a persistent approach to building reusable, maintainable solutions rather than quick fixes.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, cross-functional teammates, and stakeholders to validate ideas and gather requirements.
