Role overview

Thinkific is an AI-powered learning commerce platform that enables businesses to create, market, and deliver online courses and communities at scale. As an Account Executive, you’ll own the complete sales cycle for mid-market and enterprise customers, driving new customer acquisition and revenue growth for the Thinkific Plus platform.

Key responsibilities

  • Hunt, develop, and close net-new accounts aligned with the company’s target customer profile in learning, enablement, and customer education sectors.
  • Run a consultative, customer-centric sales process from initial outreach through discovery, product demonstrations, and contract closing using established sales methodologies.
  • Conduct deep discovery conversations and create data-driven business cases that quantify the value and return on investment of implementing a modern learning platform.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and executive presentations to senior decision-makers including L&D leaders, HR executives, and C-suite representatives.
  • Lead contract negotiations, address objections, and close deals while ensuring client satisfaction and meeting revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams to share market intelligence, buyer trends, and competitive insights that inform strategy and roadmap decisions.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline records and opportunity tracking in Salesforce, using data to refine and improve your sales approach continuously.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in a customer-facing, business development, or sales role with demonstrated pipeline generation.
  • At least one to two years of experience running full sales cycles and owning the close.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas with consistent outperformance.
  • Demonstrated ability and comfort with self-sourcing opportunities and proactive business development rather than waiting for inbound leads.
  • Strong capability to manage multiple accounts and opportunities simultaneously while prioritizing effectively.
  • Comfort making phone calls and building relationships through direct outreach and consultative selling approaches.
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to self-diagnose performance gaps and improve sales execution independently.
