Key responsibilities

  • Respond to client issues through multiple channels including email, chat platforms, and direct calls, working alongside senior team members when needed.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot API and product issues using Elasticsearch, SQL, Postman, and internal admin tools, then resolve issues within your scope of authority.
  • Document recurring issues by creating FAQs, runbooks, and client-facing guides to prevent future problems.
  • Shadow incident response and on-call rotations to understand how production issues are managed in real time.
  • Assist with proactive monitoring work led by senior engineers, and take on scoped improvements to alerting systems or dashboards if you demonstrate sufficient technical depth.
  • Conduct basic QA testing during issue triage to determine whether problems stem from bugs, configuration issues, or client-side factors.
  • Provide feedback to improve the AI support agent and identify gaps in support processes and tools.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience calling APIs, ideally with Postman.
  • Basic SQL proficiency including ability to write SELECT queries with filtering, JOINs, and aggregation functions.
  • Ability to read logs and follow code written in at least one programming language.
  • Fluent or native Arabic language skills.
  • Working understanding of client-server systems and authentication methods such as OAuth.
  • Evidence of independently debugging problems, whether through side projects, hackathons, or troubleshooting technical setups.
  • Clear technical writing skills and ability to explain problems and solutions to others.
  • Ownership mentality: commitment to seeing issues through to full resolution rather than handing them off prematurely.
  • Interest in fintech, payments, or open banking sectors.

What makes this role worth considering

You’ll work directly with senior engineers who lead technical operations, giving you exposure to how monitoring and alerting systems function at scale. Lean offers competitive salaries, private healthcare, flexible office hours, and meaningful equity stakes for all team members to ensure long-term alignment with the company’s mission of building financial infrastructure for MENA.
