Role overview

Tamara, a leading fintech platform across Saudi Arabia and the GCC region, is looking for a Merchant Acquisition Specialist to join its In-store Operations team in Riyadh. You will be responsible for identifying and signing new merchant partners while monitoring in-store marketing initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with businesses and play a key part in Tamara’s expansion, serving over 25 million customers and 130,000 partner merchants across retail, travel, education, healthcare, and other sectors.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and approach potential merchant partners at their physical store locations, presenting Tamara’s services and explaining the advantages of partnership.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with merchants by understanding their specific needs and positioning Tamara’s offerings as solutions to their challenges.
  • Conduct in-person product demonstrations and address merchant concerns to secure new partnerships.
  • Gather and report market intelligence, competitor information, and merchant feedback to support company strategy and product development.
  • Monitor in-store marketing materials visibility and effectiveness at partner locations.
  • Guide prospective merchants through the application and onboarding process to ensure successful partnerships.

Requirements

  • Between internship or co-op experience and a maximum of two years of professional experience in sales or business development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills capable of engaging with merchants and internal stakeholders across all levels.
  • Strong organizational abilities and careful attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with CRM software experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented mindset with genuine interest in growing within the BNPL sector.
  • Valid Saudi Arabian driver’s license required.
