Role overview

Etihad Airways is recruiting an Operations Systems Specialist to oversee the Departure Control System and lead improvements to airport operational technology. You will serve as the central technical resource connecting Airport Operations, IT teams, vendors, and business units to translate operational requirements into effective system solutions that enhance efficiency and passenger experience.

Key responsibilities

Serve as the subject matter expert for the Departure Control System, delivering functional guidance and technical support across airport operations.
Own the configuration and maintenance of the Departure Control System while ensuring compliance with operational, commercial, and regulatory standards.
Bridge communication between Airport Operations, IT departments, vendors, and stakeholders to convert operational needs into workable technology solutions.
Lead cross-functional projects and system improvements, overseeing successful delivery and adoption throughout the operational environment.
Support the implementation of Departure Control System solutions at new airport locations, ensuring systems are ready for operational use.
Oversee testing, validation, documentation, and change management processes related to system upgrades and new releases.
Identify and drive operational improvements through enhanced system capabilities, process optimization, and better customer outcomes.

Requirements

Minimum five years of hands-on experience working in airline or ground handling operations.
Practical training and demonstrated competency with Departure Control Systems.
Strong capabilities in analytical thinking and resolving complex operational problems.
Demonstrated ability to manage system configurations and oversee deployment activities.
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Expert-level knowledge of departure control and reservations system functionality.
Working knowledge of how systems integrate with broader airline operational workflows.
